Live Kanvas Content Guidelines

Effective Date: February 11, 2025
Welcome to Live Kanvas, a platform designed for high-quality user-generated content, including movies, podcasts, short films, live events, and more. To maintain a professional and engaging community, all content must meet our quality and formatting standards.
1. General Content Submission Guidelines
  • Content Formats: Users can upload video or audio content.
  • Metadata: Title, description, genre, format, and tags must accurately reflect the content.
  • Subtitles: Supported formats include SRT, VTT, and SCC.
  • Cover Art: Each submission must include properly formatted cover art. (JPEG or PNG)
2. Content Type 
Short Film: A narrative film under 40 minutes, focusing on a single idea or story. Clear beginning/middle/end; quality visuals and audio; appropriate content warnings for mature themes.
Movie: A full-length narrative film (usually 90+ minutes.) Developed plot and characters; high production standards; proper age ratings and warnings. A self contained Title that is not associated with any other Title.
Series: A collection of episodes forming an overarching narrative or thematic exploration. Consistent style and tone; standardized episode lengths; seasonal arcs and recurring content warnings if needed.
Documentary: A non-fiction film exploring real events, people, or issues. Fact-checked content; balanced perspectives with cited sources; ethical use of interviews and footage.
Video Podcast: An episodic series combining visual elements with conversational or interview content. Clear video and audio quality; structured discussions; obtained guest permissions.
Audio Podcast: A spoken-word series designed for listening, covering discussions, storytelling, or interviews. High audio clarity; logical flow; fact-checking and proper permissions for all content.
TV Show: A program (scripted or unscripted) produced for television or streaming platforms. Consistent format and production quality; age-appropriate ratings; uniform narrative and thematic style.

3. Video Asset Requirements
  • Video content should have no more than 2 seconds of black before and after.
  • Video content must not include color bars, ads, or textless elements
  • Burned-in closed captions are not allowed.
4. Image & Cover Art Requirements.
All images must be high resolution, free of pixelation, and visually appealing.
  • Profile Banner: 3,000 x 1,750 px
  • Profile Image: 1,000 x 1,000 px
  • Content Cover Art: 1,400 x 1,400 px
  • Live Event Banner: 3,000 x 1,750 px
  • Live Event Icon: 1,400 x 1,400 px
5. Quality Standards.
Live Kanvas prioritizes high-quality content. Submissions may be rejected if they fail to meet these standards:

  • Clear visuals with good lighting and minimal compression artifacts
  • Stable framing, no excessive shakiness or distortion
Accepted file container formats are: 
  • .MOV (ProRes or H.264)
  • .MP4 (H.264)
Audio:
  • Clear, high-fidelity sound without distortion
  • No background noise, excessive echo, or static
  • Properly leveled volume across all content
Accepted file container formats are:

6. Content Moderation & Restrictions.
Live Kanvas reserves the right to reject or remove content that violates our guidelines. Prohibited content includes but is not limited to:
  • Poor video or audio quality – Unwatchable, inaudible, or low-resolution content.
  • Incorrect formatting – Improperly sized cover art, incorrect subtitle formats.
  • Metadata errors – Misleading titles, descriptions, or tags.
  • Offensive material – Content that contains excessive violence, gore, or harassment.
  • Adult content – Nudity, sexually explicit material, or pornographic content.
  • Hate speech or symbols – Racist, discriminatory, or extremist content.
  • Copyright infringement – Unauthorized use of music, videos, or trademarks.
  • Community Guidelines Violations – Content that incites harm, misinformation, or illegal activities.
7. Live Kanvas’ Right to Reject Content. Live Kanvas may reject, remove, or require modifications to content at its sole discretion if it does not meet our standards.
